Sensor specialist, R&D TEM Department: The Research and Development organization for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) is committed to develop innovative technologies, modules and software that enable us to deliver world class TEM microscopes for our demanding markets and customers. With the ongoing developments in physics and industry the requirements for performance of these TEM microscopes are continuously growing. In close cooperation with the TFS Advanced Technology Development group and several strategic collaboration partners, we are striving to define the most advanced concepts and turn them into real products, with the purpose to enable our customers to make the world cleaner, healthier and safer! Team:

The Detection team is one of the Competence & Technology departments of TEM Solutions. The team consists of 20-25 enthusiastic engineers, specialized in detection– and imaging technology. The team is running several projects supporting the company product- and technology roadmaps in the domains of imaging and chemical mapping of specimens in our Transmission Electron Microscopes. Part of the team is based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and another part is based in Brno, Czech Republic. Location for this position is Eindhoven.

Position:

You will be part of an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team and work on advanced imaging technology for our high-tech electron-microscope modules or sub-systems. In this position you will be working on following tasks: Translating customer application-level requirements into low-level image sensor requirements Supervising and challenging suppliers in their design creations and design considerations Supervising the application of sensors in the camera (electrically, mechanically) where low-noise performance, temperature effects and interferences suppression are key Performing image quality assessments and bringing proposals for improvements in the imaging chain in all multidisciplinary aspects Taking responsibility for the release of a sensor design for use in our camera/detector products Coaching (junior) engineers in evaluation tasks In this position you will interact with many people in- and outside our organization like suppliers, system architects, application specialists and peers. Following trends in the industry in image sensor technology and definition of technology roadmaps for future projects are part of the job.

Qualifications: We encourage candidates with following qualifications to apply: Requires relevant experience in the imaging technology domain A university degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical or Physics Engineering Taking initiative, self-steering, self-confident and have perseverance Combination of a strong analytical view with a pragmatic attitude You are an excellent communicator and a great teammate Able to switch between thinking on a high/conceptual level and on a detail level You are value oriented and able to set and act according to priorities at the same time
