Job Description

Senior Enterprise Cloud Solution Architect Exciting opportunity at MSK: As a Senior Enterprise Solution Architect within the Enterprise Architecture and Solution team at MSK, you will play a key role in designing and implementing solution architectures to support MSK's transition to the cloud. You will work on complex healthcare-specific applications, aligning the solutions with MSK's enterprise architecture and contributing directly to MSK's mission of advancing patient care and research. In this role, you will lead the creation of scalable, integrated solutions, with a strong focus on cloud technologies, particularly AWS, supporting research workflows, analytics, and operational needs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, technology leaders, and stakeholders, you will establish architectural standards, guide technology selection, and support data governance frameworks. Role Overview: Lead cloud adoption initiatives, driving the architecture and solution design for cloud adoption efforts, including on-premise migrations, greenfield applications, and retrofitting existing cloud applications.

Utilize AWS Core Services across compute, storage, databases, networking, and security to build robust, cloud-based solutions that meet business needs. Apply architectural best practices to ensure high availability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, performance optimization, and security compliance in all cloud solutions. Develop and document solution designs, including comprehensive architecture diagrams, migration plans, and multi-region setups, aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform to establish automated and repeatable deployments that enable efficient and reliable infrastructure management. Support DevOps practices by setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and automated testing to maintain a reliable and agile deployment process. Maintain architectural runway and develop technical solutions to support continuous delivery pipelines within an Agile environment. Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to engineering and technical teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and successful project delivery. Demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address real-world issues, optimize performance, and ensure continuous service availability across cloud solutions. Leverage strong soft skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, manage expectations, and support Agile delivery across projects. Key Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in IT architecture Extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Proficiency in multiple programming languages and development methodologies Excellent communication and leadership skills with Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Core Skills: Stay current with new technologies and industry best practices to design solutions that enhance research capabilities and improve workflows. Lead architectural discussions and align architecture with business priorities. Manage architectural conflicts and ensure that solutions align with enterprise goals. In-depth knowledge of cloud governance and regulatory compliance in healthcare. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating technical solutions into business terms and engaging with senior leadership.
