What you will be doing:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Data Scientist to the Openings Studio development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning models that extract insights from both structured and unstructured data sources. In addition to a solid foundation in traditional data science techniques, the ideal candidate will be experienced in working with newer frameworks related to large language models (LLMs) and familiar with technologies related to them.
Key areas you will contribute to the role include:
Analyze, interpret, and model structured and unstructured data to solve complex business challenges. Develop predictive models and algorithms to derive actionable insights & automate repetitive tasks. Utilize machine learning (ML) techniques, such as supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning. Work with large datasets from various sources, including databases, text, images, and other unstructured formats. Develop, deploy, and optimize data pipelines for real-time and batch processing. Apply statistical analysis and advanced data modeling techniques to identify trends and patterns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including end users & software engineers, to integrate insights into the organization's decision-making processes. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new frameworks. Experience with generative AI techniques and transformer-based models, including fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) for specific applications, as well as expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks for enhancing knowledge-intensive tasks. What we are looking for:
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in collaborative and fast-paced environments. Education and/or Experience:
Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma. Minimum of 2 - 3 years of industry-related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Scala. Experience with common data science frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras, and newer frameworks for large language models like, but not limited to, Hugging Face or OpenAI. Strong understanding of data wrangling, preprocessing, and feature engineering techniques for both structured and unstructured data. Solid knowledge of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, or Power BI). Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including data storage and ML tools. Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (e.g., Docker). Strong analytical thinking & problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with natural language processing techniques. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, or Hive. Experience deploying machine learning models in production environments. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in collaborative and fast-paced environments. Creative problem-solving approach and strong attention to detail. Experience within the AEC industry is a plus. Special considerations:
This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona and must be available to work onsite upon the opening of our new office facility.
