Job Description SSTAR is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our CSS unit. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care for clients on the CSS unit. The LPN acts as the liaison between nursing and other program components. Coordinates system for managing residential CSS clients self-administered prescribed medications while they are residing on the Unit. LPN is responsible for medication review, transcription review, coordination of medication needs. LPN is to administer medication while on shift. Orients the CSS Recovery Specialist and other staff to the medication procedures. Conducts CSS Recovery Specialist medication competencies upon hire and yearly. Review and maintain accurate medication administration records, assist with 24-hour checks as needed. Provides staff education around possible side effects associated with the clients' prescribed medications. Assesses CSS clients' medical and psychiatric status as needed. Coordinates any outside medical and psychiatric care required by CSS clients. Coordinates MAT therapy, psychiatric injections, other medication needs on unit. Assists in long term planning needs and care coordination. Participates with other staff members in implementing program objectives and philosophy. Provides clients with education around health issues including medical aspects of addiction and pharmacology. Participates in regularly scheduled meetings, attends conferences and in-services to keep abreast of new trends in nursing practice. Reports incidents or items needing intervention to Director of Nursing as required by agency policy and procedure. Prepares and submits MAT reports required by BSAS to program supervisor. Other duties as required. Experience and Skills Required Professional Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Current Massachusetts LPN License Experience in a substance use disorder setting, preferred. Obtain CEU's per current Board of Nursing requirements. Knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing. Evidence of good physical and mental health and professional conduct. Job Benefits
