Job Opportunity: AVP, Property Claims Manager
Our client is seeking an
AVP, Property Claims Manager
to lead and enhance their property claims operations. This role ensures high-quality handling and resolution of complex, high-exposure claims while delivering exceptional service. The position can be based in Wilmington, DE, or Morristown, NJ.
Key Responsibilities: Manage claims inventory to meet key performance metrics and ensure timely resolution. Hold staff and independent adjusters accountable for delivering exceptional customer service to insureds, agents, and other stakeholders. Conduct administrative functions, including performance reviews and time-off reporting. Train internal and external adjusters on company best practices and processes. Oversee first-party claim assignments and address coverage issues as needed. Approve reserves exceeding adjuster authority and review denial/reservation of rights letters. Lead catastrophe response management efforts. Build strong relationships within the broker community to promote the brand. Collaborate across departments, including Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, and Risk Management. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of leadership experience handling property insurance claims, preferably with High Net Worth customers. Knowledge of construction, estimating, and systems such as Symbility. Ability to manage preferred vendors to drive quality improvement. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audiences. Strong organizational skills, accountability, and a proactive approach to customer advocacy. Natural curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
