Then Woolpert is seeking you Woolpert is hiring technical writers to join our dynamic technical writing team at our Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus office. This position reports to the writing team lead and is responsible for providing technical writing and editing support for proposal materials, company documents, and technical reports. Additionally, this team member supports the Marketing Department by providing content development, editing, and proofreading. Qualified candidates will be comfortable interviewing subject matter experts, drafting content, incorporating feedback, and managing quick-turnaround review cycles. Priority will be given to candidates with specific experience in architecture, engineering, or geospatial writing. Responsibilities Essential Functions As a technical writer at Woolpert, you will: Write and maintain new proposal documents (resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate text, etc.) that meet company-defined standards. This includes coordinating and placing appropriate graphics and editing for grammar and punctuation. Update employee master resumes. Work with proposal managers and coordinators to develop and/or update writing guidelines and standards. Assist with billable technical writing projects for various Woolpert groups. Review current proposal documents (resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate text, etc.), firmwide documents, and technical documents, revising to meet company-defined standards. Maintain proposal materials within various document repositories. Act as a resource to proposal coordinators for proposal preparation, including assisting with overflow support. Perform editorial quality assurance/quality control checks on proposal submittals. Support Marketing by providing technical content for external communications, including collateral, award submittals, website content, etc. Provide editing and proofreading services for requested materials. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education/Experience: BA/BS degree in related field or six (6) years of related experience. Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat. Attributes: Detail oriented, focused, supportive, collaborative. Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 10%. Overtime: Rare. Preferred Skills and Abilities Background in architecture, engineering, or geospatial proposal writing. Skill in Adobe Creative Suite. Good presentation skills. Excellent writing (technical and creative) skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Can develop and manage cross-functional relationships.
