Job Description:
Our client, a fast-growing technology company in Austin, TX, is seeking a Scrum Master to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Jira and Confluence, as well as Scrum Master certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams.
- Schedule and lead the 4 primary ceremonies of Scrum (Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospective and Sprint Demo)
- Manage and publish key team metrics. Such as: Sprint Burndown, appropriate release burnups. Story Cycle time. Average Velocity and Planned vs Committed sprint over sprint.
- Keep the manager informed proactively and escalate issues early on directly
- Clear obstacles and keep the team productive
- Organize and publish PI meetings, and enforce team(s) following the SDLC particularly partly sub-phases (estimations/sizing) to Development, and feedback from Beta.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure that the team adheres to Agile principles and processes.
- Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize product backlog items.
- Remove impediments and ensure that the team is able to deliver high-quality products on time.
- Monitor and report on team velocity and progress toward sprint and release goals.
- Ensure that Jira and Confluence are set up and maintained in a way that supports the Agile development process.
- Coach and mentor team members on Agile best practices.
- Work collaboratively with other Scrum Masters and Agile coaches to continuously improve the Agile development process.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is required.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master for Agile development teams.
- Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence is required.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work mode, with a combination of remote and onsite work.
