Saxon Global is hiring: Software Automation Tester in Austin

WORK DESCRIPTION:

Our client is recruiting for a highly experienced and effective QA Engineer/Automation to assist the Information Technology System Validation and Testing team. This position will report to the IT Manager of the Service Validation and Testing team located at the customer's site in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing test automation and also responsible for manual software testing and other aspects of the software testing cycle including drafting a Test Plan, test script validation and execution, and defect management.

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

This position provides software quality assurance services and will include, but not be limited to, the following:

1. Create automated test scripts with an extensive knowledge in test automation frameworks

2. Analyze functional, service level and technical requirements and use cases.

3. Write high quality deliverables such as test plans, manual test scripts.

4. Cross reference test scripts with requirements.

5. Execute a wide range of quality-control testing to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards including functional, regression, integration, performance, and compliance tests.

6. Conduct manual testing of software applications.

7. Document all detected issues and variances and assist in their resolution.

8. Work with cross functional teams, including technical, project, customer and vendors.

9. Clearly document and communicate inconsistencies, issues.

10. Follow defined IT standards and procedures in the creation of test scenarios.

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Business or Computer Science or in a field related to the job. (Education or experience may be substituted up to a maximum of four (4) years)
• Test Automation tool experience a must
• Experience with creating automated Test scripts (proven development skills)
• Experience working with Java and Javascript, other programming languages used in automation
• Experience creating Test Automation frameworks
• Proficient knowledge of software testing methodologies
• Experience documenting test plans, test requirements, test defect tracking and resolution
• Experience writing, running and maintaining test scripts
• Proficiency in manual testing knowledge and experience
• Experience working with Test Management and Defect Management tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with technical style guides and writing standards
• Familiarity with integration testing and best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of varying technical aptitudes

Preferred

• Knowledge of systems used to support the business of Utility, particularly IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) application, Oracle Customer Care and Billing application, Automated Data Management and Meter Data Management system applications
• Experience with IBM Collaboration Lifecycle Management (CLM) or similar CLM tool
• Experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester and Rational Performance Tester tools
