Job Summary:
The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will oversee and optimize manufacturing processes within our Assembly operation. This role involves applying insights from product design, fabrication, tooling, and materials, collaborating with equipment vendors, and gathering feedback from operators. The engineer will be responsible for both manual and automated assembly operations, driving process improvements consistently. A key aspect of this position is a strong commitment to continuous improvement on an annual basis.

Description
Job Summary:
The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will oversee and optimize manufacturing processes within our Assembly operation. This role involves applying insights from product design, fabrication, tooling, and materials, collaborating with equipment vendors, and gathering feedback from operators. The engineer will be responsible for both manual and automated assembly operations, driving process improvements consistently. A key aspect of this position is a strong commitment to continuous improvement on an annual basis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage medium and large assembly machine projects through full implementation including capital appropriations
- Ability to ensure availability and capability of shop floor assembly equipment including automation
- Understand where producibility issues lie, based on data and is able to communicate and lead the cross functional team to solve the most common issues, using processes like six sigma or 8D.
- Analyze and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
- Defining, redefining, and developing workflows based on capacity and efficiency needs
- Creating assembly tooling designs utilizing Autodesk software
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards
- Participate on multifunctional PFMEA (Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) teams

- Strong technical ability - experience working with automated equipment (Robots, HMI, and PLC controls) is a plus
Education and Experience:
- BSME/BSMET required
- 0-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a high mix/low volume and low mix/high volume manufacturing preferred
- Process development, control and improvement experience preferred
- Superior computer skills, with experience in Autodesk 3-D design software a plus
- Strong understanding of GD&T and working in tight tolerances (.0001)
- Experience with controls, including proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and programming input/output (I/O) is a plus
