Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite 3 days/week)

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their Threat Intelligence team. In this role, you'll drive strategic security initiatives that protect the integrity of a cutting-edge 5G network. Leveraging your expertise, you'll lead efforts in analyzing and safeguarding complex network infrastructure, identifying and responding to advanced threats, and mentoring junior engineers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the forefront of cybersecurity within telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis of large-scale network data to detect sophisticated security threats and mitigate risks to critical infrastructure.
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced security systems and protocols to capture, process, and analyze network data for threat intelligence.
  • Drive incident response activities, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Lead optimization initiatives for network security, continuously refining protocols and introducing new methodologies to enhance resilience.
  • Oversee hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of security measures in lab, field, and live environments, ensuring robustness and compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices in network security and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of telecommunications, network architecture, and security principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as Splunk, SQL, KQL, and Defender; experience with other SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in threat detection, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent; certifications in telecommunications security are a plus.
  • Experience managing classified information and working with secure environments.
  • Eligible to hold or currently holds a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging threats.
  • Strong communication skills, able to bridge technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven experience working hands-on in lab and field settings, with the flexibility to adapt to complex and changing project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under high-pressure scenarios, displaying a high level of resilience and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security architecture within 5G or telecommunications environments is preferred.
