We're looking for an AR/VR Application Tester (aka The Experience Optimizer) to rigorously test and validate AR/VR applications, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, usability, and stability.
As an AR/VR Application Tester at our client, you'll work closely with developers, designers, and QA teams to test applications across various AR/VR platforms. Your expertise in testing methods, bug detection, and user experience will be essential in delivering top-notch applications that meet both functional and immersive goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Comprehensive AR/VR Application Testing:
- Conduct functional, usability, and performance testing of AR/VR applications on various devices. You'll assess interactions, visual quality, and responsiveness to ensure applications meet user expectations.
- Identify bugs, track glitches, and document usability issues, providing clear, actionable feedback to developers. You'll prioritize issues based on their impact on user experience and functionality.
- Create detailed test plans and cases based on application specifications and user stories. You'll ensure comprehensive coverage of features and edge cases, adapting tests for different AR/VR platforms and devices.
- Test applications on a variety of AR/VR hardware, including headsets, AR glasses, and mobile devices. You'll ensure compatibility, stability, and smooth performance across multiple platforms.
- Work with UX designers to conduct user experience tests, gathering insights from user interactions and behaviors. You'll provide feedback to enhance usability, comfort, and overall immersion.
- Implement and maintain automated test scripts to streamline repetitive testing tasks. You'll improve testing efficiency and reliability by reducing manual testing time while ensuring coverage.
- Continuously research new testing tools, methodologies, and best practices in AR/VR application testing. You'll bring new ideas to the team, ensuring testing methods are modern and effective.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in AR/VR Testing Techniques: Proficiency in manual and automated testing methods for AR/VR applications, including performance, usability, and functional testing.
- Experience with AR/VR Hardware and Platforms: Familiarity with VR headsets (e.g., Oculus, HTC Vive), AR glasses, and mobile AR platforms, including the technical requirements and limitations of each.
- Knowledge of Bug Tracking Tools: Experience using bug-tracking software like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools for documenting and tracking issues.
- Understanding of UX Principles for AR/VR: Knowledge of user experience principles and usability testing for immersive applications to ensure intuitive and comfortable interactions.
- Programming Skills in Python or C#: Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python or C# for developing automated test scripts and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Media, or a related field. Equivalent experience in application testing may be considered.
- Specialized training or certifications in software testing, quality assurance, or AR/VR development are advantageous.
- 3+ years of experience in application testing, with a focus on AR/VR, gaming, or interactive media.
- Experience with testing methodologies for immersive applications, including functional, performance, and usability testing.
- Familiarity with developing and maintaining automated testing scripts is a plus.
