Business Development Manager, Defense & Aerospace Job Purpose: The Business Development Manager will develop relationships within target customers to penetrate the organizations and open doors to new business opportunities in the Defense & Aerospace Market. Nature of Duties: The candidate will deploy global account strategy in conjunction with Management in order to achieve aims and objectives set for the business. The BDM will be responsible for aggressively attacking Design, EMS and Machining business opportunities to ensure competitive take-away, market share growth and prime strategic positioning for future business successes. The BDM will be accountable for meeting and exceeding sales revenues targets set by Management. The BDM will communicate issues and problems back into the company to drive and assist with resolution. The BDM will identify, qualify and close new business in line with set quotas and engage appropriate resources from cross-functional teams to ensure successful business execution. Additional responsibilities will be to own and manage related RFQs and act as prime in ensuring timely response delivery and feed information back into Management in support of developing Business Plans. The BDM will regularly update sales data system with customer data, new opportunity logs and call plans. Education and Experience: BA or BS degree Minimum 8 years sales experience in the manufacturing industry with proven success with meeting/exceeding goals and objectives. Knowledge of machining with background in manufacturing and a comprehensive understanding of global supply chain and OEM's manufacturing requirements. Well rounded experience in the Defense & Aerospace market segment and sub-segments Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and closing skills • Experience working with vast remote cross-functional teams in large matrix organizations Excellent MS Office skills Strong project Management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize actions Must have strong negotiation skills Needs strong problem solving skills and the ability to influence outcomes Will be responsible for presenting to (internal) executive teams and conveying the status of the business and growth opportunities Will be responsible for developing the growth strategy for the machining organization and insuring objectives are being met. Will work closely with Operations Management to insure goals, objectives and budgets are met.
