TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 11am - 11pm Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience, preferably with Critical Care experience. License: Valid nursing license Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Must-Have: Negative drug screen for all panels Job Description: - Responsible for general duties in a fast-paced, critical care environment. - Handle Phase I and Phase III Recovery for approximately 80-90 patients, including pediatrics. - Provide care for general and complex surgeries/procedures within a Level 1 Trauma center. - Board ICU patients awaiting hospital beds and manage patients from the catheterization lab who have undergone anesthesia, including TAVR, ablations, and pacemaker procedures. - Utilize EPIC and OP TIME for computerized charting and medication systems. - Undertake 3 overnight call shifts in a 6-week plotter, with no weekend shifts required. - Work shifts may vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours. - Do not float outside the recovery room area, but only within the 5 PACUs onsite. - Total bed capacity is 50 beds, divided among specialty PACUs. - Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients in Phase I Recovery and 1 RN to 3-4 patients in Phase III Recovery. - Dress Code: Surgical scrubs provided by the facility. - Participate in specific training and orientation programs geared towards acute level care equivalent to ICU. - Orientation includes main PACU areas; nonbillable orientation is 12 hours, and guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
