Consulting Associate, Air Quality (Entry Level)
ERM (Environmental Resource Management) is seeking a Consulting Associate, Air Quality to join our Air Quality & Climate Change technical team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects for clients in the technology, energy, and manufacturing sectors throughout the Midwest. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations.
- Assist in developing complete and accurate air quality permit applications/documentation for Title V, PSD, and NSR compliance. Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance.
- Prepare emission inventory reports (criteria and GHG); quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts, and complete toxic release inventory (TRI) reporting.
- Evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment.
- Assist with climate change projects, such as greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure, and verification.
- Assist clients with MACT compliance programs.
- Prepare recommendations and reporting of results.
- Support environmental compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.
- Support the general growth and development of ERM’s global air quality and climate change services. Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute air quality projects, including participating on teams comprised of Air Quality & Climate Change professionals from multiple offices around the global organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/MS in meteorology, engineering (chemical, environmental), environmental science, or related degree. Or the equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of education.
- 0+ years of relevant experience in air quality/compliance consulting.
- Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
- Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and “people” skills.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
