JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager oversees and coordinates daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, supervising staff, and securing the warehouse. This highly organized leader directs the work of 10-15 associates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing work schedules to ensure effective and efficient operations, overseeing the processing of receipts and fulfillment to prioritize workload and expedite as needed.
- Providing distribution floor leadership and directs effective utilization of resources through formal (daily stand-ups, performance appraisal, coaching & counselling) and informal (feedback to employees) communication to energize the operation and promote teamwork.
- Manages the Inventory Control and Cycle Count program and ensures metrics for count completion and inventory integrity (valuation and location levels) are attained.
- Participates in recruitment and selection process for new employees and temporary labor.
- Develops SOP for warehouse operations and provides safety, on-the-job training, scheduling, and employee support.
- Develop and recommend strategies to offset staff shortages and turnover.
- Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
- Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
- Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds.
- Coordinating and maintaining fleets and equipment.
- Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience in 5S and other Lean concepts.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
- Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs at a time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in business, management, logistics or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Manager or a similar management position.
