What You’ll Do:

  1. Assist with the design of the High Voltage Battery production system, including line layout, manufacturing processes and automation, installation, and overall battery production ramp planning for a new manufacturing facility.
  2. Apply expert level knowledge of High Voltage Batteries and manufacturing process to collaborate and influence our multidisciplinary Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Facilities teams in the development of a new High Voltage Battery for an eVTOL aircraft.
  3. Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team.
  4. Determine the requirements for automation, tools, stands, fixtures, etc.
  5. Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM.
  6. Conduct process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA) for the Battery production system.
  7. Develop specification for tooling and automation equipment.
  8. Develop efficient manufacturing processes.
  9. Oversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipment.
  10. Create/approve work instructions for Battery assembly and installation.
  11. Support first unit builds and testing of the production system.

What You Need:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. 1+ years work experience, EV or aerospace preferred.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Effective organizational and time management skills.
  5. Efficient documentation and written communication.
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  7. Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities.
  8. Direct hands on build experience with mechanical and electronic assemblies using sophisticated manufacturing equipment.
  9. Demonstrated experience in statistical process control and GD&T.
  10. Experience developing production lines from prototype to mass production.
  11. Strong organizational skills.
  12. Experience with CAD, PLM, MES, and ERP software.

Bonus Qualifications:

  1. Hands-on experience with battery module and/or pack manufacturing.
  2. Experience with wirebonding, laser welding, ultrasonic welding, electronic torque tools, adhesive dispense, and/or battery End Of Line test.
  3. Direct experience programming and troubleshooting industrial automation (PLC, robots, gantries, etc.).
  4. Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  5. EV/eVTOL knowledge or experience.
  6. Experience with high voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor.
  7. Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $110,400 - $138,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
