Come join us at Boston Scientific, Arden Hills! Our team in BCE is searching for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team. This individual manages activities and allocates resources within the Manufacturing Engineering function to meet Divisional, Site, and Value Stream goals. He/she/they will lead a group of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians to design and develop tools, controls, equipment, and processes to support manufacturing operations. A significant portion of the manager’s time is dedicated to team development, performance management, and organizational leadership responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Serves as the manufacturing engineering lead for one or more of the Arden Hills manufacturing value streams or functional teams.
  2. Provides direction and guidance to technician and engineering staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.
  3. Aligns resources and identifies opportunities for improvement within the existing processes and systems.
  4. Builds strong relationships and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Quality, R&D, Supplier Engineering, and Process Development functions.
  5. Ensures that inputs from all customers are understood, plans are appropriately developed, and drives accountability and execution to plans.
  6. Utilizes excellent communication skills, demonstrating leadership communicating both up and down the organization.
  7. Influences, guides, and manages internal/external resources to achieve program goals.
  8. Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.
  9. Recruits, coaches, and develops organizational talent.
  10. Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  11. Creates an entrepreneurial environment.
  12. Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
  13. Demonstrates effective change leadership.
  14. Develops and executes organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills.
  15. Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
  16. Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
  17. Develops, monitors, and appropriately adjusts the annual budget for one or more functional areas.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  2. 5+ years of related work experience
  3. 2+ years of supervisory / management experience
  4. Demonstrated track record of project management execution
  5. Proven successful leadership experience
  6. Experience with manufacturing process improvement and production tools (i.e. LEAN, DMAIC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in engineering or business
  2. Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing
  3. Familiarity with new product development and project management
  4. Ability to communicate at various levels of the organization
