JOB TITLE:
Owen Wister Review Editor
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide a consistent editorial and managerial organization for the production of the Owen Wister Review literary and arts journal. To work with staff in the production room regarding typesetting and layout. To produce a publication that is attractive and of the highest possible quality of content.

JOB TITLE:

JOB PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, oversee and complete selection process for publication content, including soliciting submissions from a wide variety of sources, both on and off campus.
- Verify, edit and proof all copy (art, photos, text) prior to submission to printer.
- Provide advice or assistance to staff as needed.
- Market and publicize magazine.
- Maintain a consistent use of magazine style by consultation of office manuals to include Chicago Manual of Style.
- Maintain at least 10 office hours weekly.
- Provide consultation of operation to Student Media Board at its regularly scheduled meetings.
- Supervise advertising efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Some supervisory experience.
- Some general experience in writing, photography and graphic design.
- Some general knowledge of online publications, including ideas for online magazine design and content

- Education or practical experience enabling the selection of quality writing and artwork for publication.

- Publication experience with editing, layout and design.
