AWS Architect
Location: Bloomfield, CT
Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Stakeholders to design solutions for customers, drive AWS adoption and revenue.
• Be an AWS evangelist. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS.
• Establish credibility & build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new and migrating existing applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
• Conduct deep-dive "hands-on" education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS SA community.
• Technical liaison between customers, service engineering & support teams.
• Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads
• Define Migration strategy to move application to cloud
• Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation. In depth knowledge of Migration tools and AWS commonly used services (EC2,S3,etc.).
• Design the overall Virtual Private Cloud VPC environment including server instance, storage instances, subnets, availability zones, etc
• Design the AWS network architecture including VPN connectivity between regions and subnets
• Design the HA / DR strategies
• Set up process, services and tools around cloud
• Oversee build of the environment
• Execute migration plan
• Leverage appropriate AWS services
• Validate the environment to meets all security and compliance control
Requirements:
• 10+ Years of software development experience; particularly within the Healthcare industry.
• Experience with software/technology in a customer facing role
• Experience with "on-premise to cloud" migrations or IT transformations
• Experience architecting/operating solutions build on AWS
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• Minimum of 3 years of AWS experience in solution design and implementation
• Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
Management - CloudWatch (Events/Logs), IAM, CloudTrail, EC2 Systems Manage
IaaS - EC2, VPC, ECS, EKS, Openshift, Direct connect, EBS, ELB, KMS, Config, SNS, SQS, SES, SWF, S3, Glacier
Data Management - Redshift, RDS, EMR, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, DynamoDB, In-memory data store
Security - IAM, Active directory (Any LDAP solution), Key Management, Encryption, RBAC
Other - Server Migration, Storage Gateway
• AWS Associate Level Certification preferred (Professional desired)
•Experience with programming (e.g. Python, Java) and exposure to infrastructure automation (Ansible/terraform)
• Experience developing, deploying, testing in AWS architecture
• Proficiency and experience with AWS developer tools and workflows (AWSCLI, CloudFormation, etc.)
