Solution Architect

Overview:

The Solution Architect is responsible for the overall technical design of the solution and for oversight of technical decisions within the project. In alignment with enterprise architectural practices, the solution architect works closely with a team of Solutions Managers, Business Systems Analysts, UX Designers, and others to ensure a high quality, well-designed solution is delivered to the client.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of a project team to define and document the architecture for a variety of projects
Provide support to the project team members, during functional requirements definition to ensure that functionality is both technically achievable and feasible within the project constraints
Work with members of the team to ensure that the solution design and implementation meets the architectural goals and applicable standards
Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks
Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-designed solutions
Ensure the architecture of a solution adheres to enterprise principles and standards across all architectural domains
Collaborate with enterprise architects on the development and implementation of standards

Qualifications:

Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in CS, IT, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years experience, with 5+ in solutions architecture
  • Experience with any tech stack such as ASP.NET/Java/MEAN, databases queries and stored procedures
  • Experience working with any middleware system such as Dell Boomi/Mulesoft/OIC/SnapLogic
  • Proficiency in SQL, RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, SQLServer), and data modeling
  • Knowledge of streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka , RabbitMQ or Streams
  • Robust IT knowledge, including client/server applications, network architecture, cloud/virtual environments, protocols, and ports under Windows and Linux
  • Experience in both traditional "waterfall" and Agile product development
  • Proficiency with software development tools and techniques (CI/CD)
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in software/solution architecture design or development
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Physical Work Requirements:

Works under general office environment conditions
Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA

Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
International and domestic travel as required
