The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Total Rewards is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive total rewards programs. This position oversees all aspects of general compensation, executive compensation, physician compensation, benefits, recognition, wellness, and the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) strategy. The SVP will ensure that these programs align with organizational goals, support employee engagement, are financially viable, and position the organization as an employer of choice.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree or advanced certification (e.g., CCP, CECP) strongly preferred. Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits, with a minimum of 5 years in an Integrated Delivery Network or large healthcare system. #LI-AR1

Deep understanding of the current and evolving landscape of local, state, and federal laws, codes, and regulations pertaining to compensation and benefits., Experience in utilizing data to inform decisions, track progress, and measure impact. Expertise in data analysis and the use of compensation and benefits software, with the ability to make data-driven recommendations, Proven experience in leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives within large, complex organizations., Proven experience in managing compensation and benefits within the healthcare industry, with a deep understanding of the complexities of compensation management for physicians and clinicians., Strong writing and presentation skills, attention to detail, project management and organizational skills, and excellent partnering skills including working collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with senior leadership and external stakeholders.Sentara Healthcare prides itself on the diversity and inclusiveness of its close to an almost 30,000-member workforce.
