Massey Henry is pleased to support the recruitment for a Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) on behalf of Ukrainian Credit Union Limited (“UCU”), a full-service, member-owned financial institution servicing over 29,000 members across Ontario. About Ukrainian Credit Union Limited Founded in 1944, UCU is recognized as the largest credit union in Canada operating under an ethnically based charter. It is dedicated to serving the Ukrainian Canadian community while contributing to a strong, multicultural Canadian society. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) leads the execution of UCU’s purpose, vision, long-term strategy, and short-term objectives. The COO plays a pivotal role in driving large-scale digital, cyber, and structural transformations. Key Responsibilities Specific responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer include: Strategic Leadership: Lead the execution of UCU’s purpose, vision, and strategic objectives. Manage digital, cyber, organizational, and structural transformations. Lead branch operations, wealth management, HR, delivery, and marketing teams. Operational Excellence: Oversee operational processes and initiatives. Ensure successful execution of development plans to optimize member service. Branch Operations: Design changes related to growth and ensure successful implementation. Establish, monitor and execute on business and sales targets. Digital Transformation: Spearhead digital transformation initiatives. Drive the adoption of digital tools and processes. Growth and Expansion: Develop and implement strategies that drive growth. Collaboration and Team Leadership: Provide hands-on leadership to cross-functional teams. Engage with the executive leadership team. Innovation and Process Improvement: Drive sustainable innovation within the credit union. Oversee the management of process improvements. The Individual The Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) is a seasoned finance executive, with expertise in successfully leading teams across banking and wealth management. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Technical Skills and Experience 10+ years of experience in financial services; minimum of 5 years in senior management roles. Proven ability to manage and enhance core banking functions. Experience in leading digital transformations. Personal Attributes Visionary and able to anticipate future trends.
