The Geographic Information System (GIS) Intern will work closely with our GIS team to support various spatial data analysis and mapping projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in utilizing GIS software and tools to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize geographic data. Under the guidance of experienced GIS professionals, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to business projects in global supply chain, customer mapping, network analysis, agriculture, and more. Job Functions:
- Perform spatial analysis, design quality maps, and produce reports detailing results.
- Obtain skills to assist in operating an enterprise ArcGIS portal deployment.
- Assist with spatial data quality and acquisition including locating and formatting datasets, working with geodatabases, and performing updates.
- Interface with internal business groups to respond to mapping needs.
- Develop skills in using mapping web applications.
- Participate in training users and trouble-shooting problems as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior GIS Analyst.
- Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in GIS.
- Familiar with ESRI ArcGIS products.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats.
- Self-motivated. Demonstrated ability to work and accomplish tasks independently.
- Skilled in comprehending and absorbing new concepts and ideas.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
