Chief Financial Officer
Gynecologic Oncology Group, Baltimore, Maryland, United States,
Reporting to and partnering with the President, the CFO will oversee, direct, implement, monitor and regulate financial and selected Operational aspects of the GOG Foundation Inc., which includes finances, audits, nonprofit tax returns, budget development, grants and contracts, budget negotiations and approval, human resources, payroll, capital improvements, investments, leases, approval of all expenses, development and approval of all grants federal, state, industry etc. contracts, and subawards relating to the GOG with the approval of the President.
Responsibilities
Oversee the financial activity of GOG Inc., and all of its programs. Direct, regulate and monitor all grants, contracts, and subawards for the GOG Foundation including developing financial systems, implementing internal controls, processing payroll and accounts payable and administering grant budgets, approving, and monitoring all grant expenditures. Provide forecasting and strategic planning for business development. Development and monitoring of all Industry budgets and assessing fair market values. Monitoring GOG’s Development/ Fundraising activities and approval of budgets. Oversee and direct GOG’s Investment activities. Setting up accounting procedures and standard journal entries. Actively negotiating, monitoring, and approving all expenditures. Development, negotiation, and administration of Partner budgets. Oversee site budget development, negotiations, and administration. Negotiate subcontract agreements, monitor performance, and act on any audit findings. Oversee and direct yearly external audits and 990 filings. Prepare and participate in negotiating indirect cost proposals and other grant regulatory filings. Monitor and take corrective actions on subrecipients audit reports and audit findings. Participate and advise the President, Treasurer, and Board of Directors of all financial activities of the GOG. Manage and oversee the financial activities of the GOG’s committee programs. These include organizing committee appointments, developing and negotiating committee contracts, developing, and maintaining committee budgets, tracking expenses, staffing meetings, and providing managerial support. Provide support and advice to the GOG’s Finance Committee and Board of Directors. Develop, direct, and advise the GOG of all grants and contracts rules and regulations, implement, and monitor procedures to stay in compliance with regulations as they relate to the GOG. Approve grant variances and requesting variances from granting bodies when appropriate. Prepare and submit all grant reports for internal and external use. Provide support and guidance for the GOG staff, on all fiscal and administrative matters in addition to grant-specific activities, Human Resource matters, contract matters and benefits matters. Qualifications
The position requires strong organizational skills. MBA is required with at least 10 or more years in the accounting arena focusing on non-profit accounting and developing and managing SMO budgets. CPA and previous experience with a CRO is desired. This position requires the ability to motivate and collaborate effectively with internal and external teams. This position requires the ability to supervise all direct reports, manage a multi-project schedule, prioritize workloads, function independently under tight deadlines and to meet these deadlines. Some travel will be required for this position. Hybrid Remote work position, some travel is required. The official office will be Edgewater, Maryland.
