Description

The Senior Buyer/Planner will be responsible for planning and buying of production components, assemblies and MRO to support best in class fill rates. He/she will support the successful transition of products from design into commercialization.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with Product Development, Quality, Program Management and external contract manufacturers, to ensure the procurement of quality products in the shortest lead time and at a competitive cost. He/she will demonstrate a strong ability to maintain supplier relationships, as well as to support daily business needs. Responsibilities

Execute the planning and buying of production components, assemblies and MRO to support best-in-class fill rates. Support new product introductions by establishing and managing a supply chain and facilitating cross functional activities required to launch and transfer to manufacturing. Negotiate price, lead time and issue purchase orders for goods and services to support production schedules and maintain proper inventory levels. Identify, evaluate and qualify new supply sources for critical business needs. Monitor, communicate and respond to changing market conditions and price trends to maximize leverage and minimize risk. Process purchase requisitions for NPI and MRO materials. Monitor open orders and delivery status of materials to expedite deliveries as necessary. Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to effectively communicate needs, resolve issues and ensure the receipt of high quality goods and services. Responsible for working with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to disposition nonconforming products in a timely manner. Responsible for meeting all the quality system requirements for the materials function and for following department and company policies. Reconcile supplier shipment errors. Assist in resolution of Accounts Payable issues. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, preferred. 5-7 years of related Supply Chain or Procurement experience. Medical device industry experience within a manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with some knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication, along with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to establish and maintain supplier relationships and lead projects. Experience with ERP software desired, Netsuite preferred. CPSM or CPIM certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Must be highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with strong attention to detail. Some travel will be required to support external suppliers.
