Description
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will report directly into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be responsible for:
- Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to ensure thermal processing equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
- Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Implement solutions based on data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with product development teams to design and validate thermal processing solutions for new and existing products.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives related to thermal processing, including energy optimization, waste reduction, and overall process efficiency.
- Ensure all thermal processes meet required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with teams across engineering, production, and R&D to ensure seamless integration of thermal processes into broader manufacturing operations.
- Learn and stay current with kiln hardware, including combustion and electric kilns

Profile
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering
- 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on thermal processing
- Experience with thermal processing equipment such as furnaces, ovens, and kilns.
- Familiarity with PID/PLC controllers
- Proficiency in CAD software for process design and simulation
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
