Description
Position Summary:
The Donor and Partnership Development Director will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to enhance and diversify the organization's funding sources. This role will focus on building relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations, ensuring sustainable financial support for our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donor and partnership development strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Donation Bin strategy to increase presence across Long Island.
- Set and track fundraising targets, including donation bin placements, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve goals.
- Donor Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors, ensuring consistent communication and engagement.
- Identify and engage new prospects, developing tailored approaches to secure their support.
- Partnership Building:
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with corporations, foundations, and community organizations to enhance funding opportunities and collaborative initiatives.
- Develop proposals and presentations for potential partners, articulating the organization's mission and impact.
- Fundraising Campaigns:
- Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, special events, and major gift solicitations.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create impactful fundraising materials and messages.
- Field Site Inspections and compliance:
- Inspect, maintain and monitor Donation Bin sites, meeting with property owners to discuss issues or concerns. Address needs promptly.
- Ensure all permits and compliance Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions using Donor Perfect or similar data management software.
- Track and analyze donation bin performance to ensure they are meeting expectations and target efficiencies.
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, Bin production and partnership outcomes for the CDMO, CEO and Board of Directors.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Work in collaboration with fundraising team members, seek out opportunities to enhance professional development.
- Train staff and board members on donor engagement best practices.
- Community Engagement:
- Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and other engagements to promote our mission and secure support.
- Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to expand outreach and impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or partnership development within the nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts, hosting fundraising events and developing successful partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong Proficiency in donor management systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media Platforms.
- Experience with corporate sponsorships and in-kind donations.
- Familiarity with grant writing and management processes.
- Understanding of current trends in nonprofit fundraising and partnership development.
Salary Description
$90,000-$110,000
