About us

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we're on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We're looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team. What you'll do

Are you looking for a great opportunity working with V-Band modem processing technologies? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a difference? If so, come join our Strategic Space Missions team as a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer developing DSP algorithms that are integral to supporting new and existing space programs. We are developing innovative technology and products that outpace our competition. Viasat has been honored for its record of performance by national magazines such as INC, Forbes, and Fortune Small Business.

In this role, you will propose concepts to solve customer problems. You will architect the system along with our customers by bringing to bear technology assets across Viasat and our partners. The products and systems you will be defining are in V-Band Crosslinks, Radar and SIGINT applications. You will develop the algorithms necessary to solve a wide range of DSP challenges. You will build system solutions from your algorithms by transitioning them from simulations to instantiations on DSP/FPGA/GPU platforms. The day-to-day

The DSP work can be broken into three major development cycles that you will be responsible for: Floating-point simulation (Matlab) Starting with a customer challenge, you will research, then design, the DSP algorithms required to tackle that challenge. Fixed-point modeling (Simulink) Given the evidence provided from floating-point simulation, you will build a digital logic model that proves how logic blocks can process equivalent math within the constraints of the platform (when applicable). Lab implementation support From the fixed-point modeling, you will generate test vectors that must be matched by team members in the Digital group. You will support the Digital team's implementation and ultimately own the performance of the DSP algorithm as it is applied to the specific platform.

You will work with interdisciplinary teams including Digital, Business Development, Systems, Software, RF circuits, hardware engineers, and others. Sound exciting? Keep reading... What you'll need
