Job Title: Plant Engineer

Job Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is primarily responsible for capital improvement projects and equipment enhancements. This role focuses on optimizing the performance of production equipment, minimizing downtime, and improving product throughput. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will continuously assess equipment to determine the necessity for maintenance, upgrades, or replacements. This position involves close collaboration with maintenance, engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute capital improvement projects and equipment enhancements.

Optimize the performance of production equipment to minimize downtime and improve product throughput.

Continuously assess equipment to determine maintenance needs, upgrades, or replacements.

Work closely with maintenance, engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless operations.

Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues impacting equipment reliability.

Implement process improvements in a high-volume manufacturing/packaging environment.

Handle process system and equipment maintenance to enhance equipment operation.

Adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful outcomes.

Apply continuous improvement methodologies, including lean six sigma and Allen-Bradley systems.

Essential Skills

4-6 years of experience in process improvement, continuous improvement, and project management.

Experience with capital improvement projects and equipment enhancements.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics.

Proficiency in root cause analysis and troubleshooting.

Hands-on project management and engineering experience.

Ability to adapt to changing project demands and manage multiple projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certified Lean Six Sigma is a plus but not required.

Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies is advantageous.

Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems and continuous improvement processes.
