Millwright Foreman Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Millwright Foreman to join our team at Lawson Rigging & Fabrication, a Design-Build General Contractor specializing in industrial facilities. About the Role:

This position is based in East Central Iowa and offers a competitive hourly wage based on qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Grain and Fertilizer Industry, with a minimum of 10 years of Millwright experience and 3 years of Millwright Foreman experience. Responsibilities include directing and supervising a crew of trades, fostering a safe workplace, training others, inspecting work for quality standards, operating construction equipment, and receiving and inventorying project materials. Key Responsibilities:

Directs and supervises a crew of one or more trades. Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace following safety policies and procedures. Trains others in Millwright's job duties and encourages their growth and advancement. Inspects work for compliance with company quality standards. Operates construction equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, hoisting equipment, excavating equipment, etc. Requirements:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Ten or more years of Millwright experience. Three or more years of Millwright Foreman experience. NCCCO Operator Certification preferred. NCCCO Rigger Certification is preferred. Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferred. TWIC card preferred. Physical Requirements:

Candidate must be able to coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision, use hands and fingers fully, reach for, manipulate, and feel objects, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures, see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and stoop, lay, bend, or squat for long periods. Working Conditions:

Will be exposed to fumes, dust, or other airborne particles, loud noises, extreme heights, working from barges on inland marine facilities, and extreme outside conditions including inclement weather, heat, and humidity or cold and wet conditions. Salary:

$35 per hour. Additional Information:

This is a full-time position requiring overtime, shiftwork, holiday, and weekend work. A driver's license is required, CDL is preferred. Pre-employment drug screening is required. Travel will be required.
