Description
We are seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer who will bring technical expertise in defining project scopes, estimating costs, and conducting comparative analyses of proposals for the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines and substations (69 kV+).
Our ideal Senior Transmission Engineer will have a solid background in high-voltage transmission line and substation design, construction, and/or maintenance, along with the following qualifications some techincal training, or higher, in one of several engineering disciplines, or completion of electrical technical schooling, or journeyman certification, or a related field.
After one year in the role, your success will be demonstrated by your ability to:
Provide technical expertise on high-voltage transmission line and substation design during MISO’s planning process, Competitive Transmission Process, and project implementation.
Develop into a subject matter expert in high-voltage transmission line and substation design, construction, and operations & maintenance.
Guide and manage consultants on project schedules and construction reviews related to proposals for the construction, ownership, and operation of transmission lines and substations.
Effectively articulate and communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
Lead projects, manage risks and organizational impacts, and engage with stakeholders across various forums.
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

Bachelors or better in Engineering
Experience
Required
A Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
4 years: Experience in the energy industry.
