Trade Compliance Specialist
Reporting To: Manager, Rgnl Trade Compliance
Work Schedule: Hybrid - Buffalo, NY
Our team in Corporate Group is looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join them. You will report to the Regional Trade Compliance Manager. Our preferred candidate will have a hybrid work schedule at our East Aurora, NY corporate headquarters. However, we're open to candidates who reside near our other US Moog locations for a hybrid structure as well. Remote work may also be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates possessing advanced industry knowledge. To be considered for the Trade Compliance Specialist role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you: Typically, a bachelor's degree in Business or other a relevant area. An advanced degree in International Business or Engineering, with trade-related certifications is highly desirable. An associate degree and additional relevant years of experience may be considered. 5+ years of experience in or supporting a manufacturing organization in similar work; preferably some of which was in contracts, program administration, or an engineering discipline. 3+ years of direct export/import licensing experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. export/import regulations including ITAR, EAR, ATF and OFAC. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement of this role. As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you will: Support the Operation's activities in international trade and function as a subject matter expert in export/import regulations; assisting with obtaining licenses and other USG authorizations for the export and import of goods and technical data. Advise and provide expertise to ensure Moog's compliance with export/import laws with respect to the shipment of goods, technical data and the providing of services, foreign travel, foreign visitors, Technology Control Plans (TCPs) and other international activities. Assist in building the culture of compliance and support the administration of the Company Compliance Program within the Group Increase compliance awareness through training of personnel along with training on all aspects of compliance (i.e., Denied Party Screening, etc.) Primary focal point for license/USG export authorization administration, including post-approval tasks such as kick-off meetings with program teams, monitoring and maintaining the use of the authorization. Provide guidance and assistance to functional departments in the development or modification of existing processes and work procedures to ensure proper trade compliant actions are considered at the appropriate time to promote compliance and mitigate risks. Support domestic and international business travel, up to 5%.
