The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursuing an opportunity for a Risk Manager to work in Tampa, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify, assess, and document risks related to program objectives, including technical, operational, security, and financial risks.
  • Evaluate the likelihood and impact of risks on EDAT program deliverables and USSOCOM mission outcomes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks, ensuring alignment with program goals and DoD standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create contingency plans for critical risk scenarios.
  • Continuously monitor risks and update the risk register, ensuring accurate tracking of risk status and mitigation progress.
  • Provide regular risk reports to program leadership and stakeholders, highlighting high-priority risks and recommended actions.
  • Work closely with technical teams, program managers, and USSOCOM stakeholders to align risk management practices with mission requirements.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and discussions to promote a proactive risk management culture within the program.
  • Ensure risk management practices comply with DoD guidelines, including NIST 800-30 and other relevant standards.
  • Incorporate industry best practices to enhance the effectiveness of risk management processes.
  • Educate team members on risk management principles, tools, and techniques to foster a shared understanding of program risks.
  • Advocate for proactive risk identification and mitigation throughout the program lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a BA degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or master's degree with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must possess a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Risk management certifications such as PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
  • Equivalent military or technical training in risk management or project management may be considered.
  • 4-7 years of experience in risk management, project management, or a related role within government or enterprise programs.
  • Proven ability to assess, document, and monitor risks in dynamic, high-stakes environments.
  • Proficiency with risk management frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., risk matrices, risk registers).
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk scenarios and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey risk assessments and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and align risk management activities with program objectives.

Preferred Qualifications.
  • Project management certifications, such as PMP or SAFe Agilist, are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with USSOCOM's operational requirements, the SOF Information Environment (SIE), and DoD risk management practices.
  • Experience managing risks in DoD or government programs with strict compliance and security requirements.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and cloud environments to assess technical and security risks effectively.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, or other risk management platforms.
  • Ability to analyze risk data and present insights to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualizations to track and communicate risk trends and mitigation progress.
  • Proven ability to lead risk workshops, mentor team members, and advocate for proactive risk management practices.
  • Experience fostering a risk-aware culture within cross-functional teams.

Pay Range: Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
