Submarine Reactor Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions' to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is looking to hire a Submarine Systems Engineer.

Noblis MSD is seeking an Engineer with a background in submarine systems to support submarine auxiliary/machinery systems.

Roles and responsibilities may include:

  • Working with SUB PPEA staff and ISEAs to assist system health production, area of concern mitigation and fleet support.
  • Support testing and troubleshooting efforts (lab-based and shipboard) for Reactor control systems (propulsion controls, indicator drive units, hotwell controls and others).
  • Develop, review, update, and execute test plans/procedures.
  • Evaluate technical information received from the Fleet (Fleet messages, advisories, etc.).
  • Develop, review, update technical documentation.
  • Provide engineering support for design, repair, installation, modification, maintenance, and operation of systems.

This will be a hybrid work environment based out of the Philadelphia, Navy Yard.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in related field with 3 years of experience, Associate's degree with 6 years of experience or High School Diplomas with 9 years of experience (U.S. Navy ship systems)
  • Ability to obtain SIPR account
  • Ability to obtain U-NNPI account
  • Submarine Controls experience, including troubleshooting from diagrams.
  • In Philadelphia region, can come to the office at least twice a week
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance or have active DoD Secret clearance would be prefer


Desired Qualifications

  • Submarine Experience, especially system operation and interrelationships to other systems.
  • Experience with a variety of submarine control systems, especially those that support the propulsion plant

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $67,800.00 - USD $105,975.00 /Yr.
