Staff Accountant Norman, Ok SUMMARY: A Staff Accountant is an entry to mid-level accounting professional responsible for maintaining financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions within the organization. The role involves working closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy in financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Payroll Functions: Primary owners of processing weekly payroll Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial statements. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between financial records. Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare necessary reports and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Financial Statement Preparation: Help prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure reports are accurate and comply with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist with processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, and managing customer billing. Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances and overdue payments. Expense Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and review company expenses to ensure they align with budgets. Assist in analyzing variances and making recommendations for cost control. Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Collect data and assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Provide variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial data. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and standards. Compliance with Accounting Policies: Ensure that financial records and procedures comply with internal policies and accounting regulations. Fixed Asset Management: Track and record fixed assets, manage depreciation schedules, and assist with asset-related reporting. Financial Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and preparing reports for management review.
