Construction Controller

Seeking a Commercial Construction Controller to join a team and oversee the financial operations of a growing construction company.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes. Software Expertise: Utilize Procore, Textura, and Sage 300 to manage project-related finances and streamline operations. Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee and participate in journal entries, job cost tracking, WIP schedules, and month-end financial closings. Banking & Payroll: Maintain strong banking relationships, manage in-house payroll, and oversee health benefits and 401(k) enrollment. Financial Oversight: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Construction Industry Focus: Leverage your experience with general contractors (GCs) and trade work to handle industry-specific accounting challenges.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Controller role within the commercial construction industry. Expertise with Procore, Textura, and Sage 300 software. Strong understanding of job costing, WIP accounting, and construction financial processes. Demonstrated tenure and stability in past roles (longevity is highly valued!). Hands-on approach to accounting tasks—you’re not afraid to dive into the details. Experience managing benefits, payroll, and banking relationships.
