Senior Project Manager
within its Business Excellence team (PMO). Our
M
olecular Division
delivers best-in-class innovative testing solutions for people around the world to provide answers to life’s critical health decisions. We help people live full and healthy lives through our accessible, molecular-based solutions.
This role is on site 5 days a week.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and influencing internal and external stakeholder to accelerate the installation, qualification, and ultimately the routine adoption of Abbott Molecular’ s recently launched diagnostics platform at key customer sites. A critical element of success for the project manager is to understand the roadblocks and challenges faced by Abbott Molecular’ s customers and to identify solutions to overcome those challenges. The project manager will work in a highly cross functional internal environment, as well as with Abbott’s customer base.
What You’ll Work On
Drive cross-functional team activities on the division’s most key customer accounts, starting early in the sales process to the customer using the system routinely.
Analyze complex problems and apply critical thought to identify potential solutions.
Collecting performance data from customer sites, analyzing the data to gain meaningful insights, and driving projects to address problems.
Drive technical and logistics activities, including installations, trainings, troubleshooting, and customer validations to achieve commercial revenue targets.
Critical thought leader who is creative in solving and/or supporting complex issues.
Lead a project team to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to project specifications.
Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
Identify and resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
Evaluate and escalate changes that significantly impact the scope or timeline of a customer account or installation.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, via email, and across teams. Communicate complex topics in succinct and practical terms.
Manage ongoing relationships with external partners so that organizations the most desirable outcome.
Comfortable at addressing senior management (internal and external) in addition to coordinating at the team and individual level.
Collaborate well across a variety of global organizations and cultures.
Works seamlessly within with each level of the business to ensure the customer’s needs and expectations are properly met.
Present effectively and negotiate program trade-offs with the end goal of meeting both parties’ needs.
Look for and capitalize on opportunities to demonstrate value to the customer.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a healthcare field
Prior project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
MS/PhD/MBA degree
PMP certification
Knowledge and experience in both diagnostic and pharmaceutical development, clinical validations, and regulatory submissions.
Experience in leading projects in a matrixed organization and in delivering results using influence without authority
5 + years of prior project management experience, include the use of tools for creating and managing schedules, budgets, and resource plans
Financial acumen with experience developing business cases, net present value analyses, etc.
Experience with scenario planning as part of problem-solving process.
Prior experience working with R&D and Regulatory on medical devices/products or relevant experience in medical devices.
