Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will specialize in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. This includes designing steam distribution, duct sizing and distribution, chiller and boiler systems within healthcare, government, housing, federal, and education facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that buildings have safe and efficient plumbing systems that meet local building codes and regulations. This position will have overall responsibilities for the mechanical design of a project and will work closely with our other Engineering and Architecture disciplines on project deliverables.
Responsibilities
Conceptually working to put together a high-quality set of construction documents with HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping systems.
Assist in the following disciplines and subdisciplines: Fire Suppression, Plumbing, Medical Gas, and HVAC (ductwork + piping).
Support project managers as part of the design process.
Work with project managers to assign tasks and coordinate resource needs.
Attend client meetings and design review meetings.
Develop construction documents and design details.
Conduct on-site construction administration and site inspection visits to assess the quality of the work.
Coordinate within a multi-disciplinary project team.
Utilize extensive experience working within a professional services firm.
Mentor, provide guidance and be a technical educator for staff.
Essential Skills
5+ years of HVAC design experience (best fit is any healthcare, municipal, government, higher education, lab, and other commercial projects)
Revit proficiency
Bachelor's or Associate's degree related to design
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PE or PE eligibility (have their EIT)
Work Environment
The office is only a couple of years old, renovated to be up-to-date and modern. It features an open concept with cubicles and offices that have glass walls/doors, promoting a very collaborative environment. The office is located downtown with ample free street parking and an attached parking garage available for $65/month. The dress code is business casual. This is a first-shift position with flexible start and end times between 7-9 AM to 4-6 PM. The company is open to hybrid or remote work for candidates with the right experience.
To qualify being remote- you MUST be 3 hr distance from Indianapolis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.00
