Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Oracle EBS Release Manager to lead and manage the release and deployment processes for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications. This role is critical in ensuring that updates, patches, and new releases are executed efficiently, on schedule, and meet quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of Oracle EBS architecture, have strong project management skills, and demonstrate expertise in coordinating cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of Oracle EBS and third-party bolt-on software releases, patches, and upgrades, ensuring smooth deployments across development, test, and production environments. This includes software installations and removals and configuration changes for the computing environment.
Work with functional and technical teams to review, approve, and manage changes in compliance with IT change management protocols.
Define and implement testing strategies, coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and tracking defect resolution to ensure release quality.
Identify potential release risks, devise mitigation strategies, and ensure appropriate risk communication to stakeholders.
Maintain detailed release documentation, including release notes, rollback plans, and configuration logs, ensuring accurate communication of release schedules, status, and potential impacts.
Lead and shape critical processes in Oracle EBS release management, contributing directly to our IT strategy.
Establish best practices for release management, identify opportunities for automation, and implement process improvements to optimize release cycles.
Ensure all releases comply with regulatory and internal standards, addressing audit requirements and implementing governance practices to protect system integrity.
Manage Oracle EBS environments, including development, testing, and production environments, ensuring stability and consistency.
Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5+ years of experience working with Oracle EBS, with at least 2 years in release or change management roles.
Strong knowledge of Oracle EBS architecture and modules (e.g., Financials, HRMS, Supply Chain Management).
Proven experience with Oracle EBS environments and deployment processes (development, testing, production).
Ability to assess complex release impacts and troubleshoot deployment issues.
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail.
Clear and effective communicator, capable of articulating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Technical Requirements:
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
Familiarity with Oracle databases, application servers, and integration technologies.
Understanding of automation tools for deployment and testing within Oracle EBS (e.g., Oracle Application Testing Suite, Tricentis, etc.).
Experience with Change Management software (PPM)
Strong command of release and change management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Experience with project management and issue-tracking tools (e.g. ServiceNow).
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) principles as they relate to Oracle EBS.
Previous experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Aerospace and Defense, Manufacturing, healthcare, finance, government) is a plus.
Prior Oracle EBS release management experience
Certification in Oracle EBS (Oracle E-Business Suite Certification) or Project Management (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Agile) is desirable.
Salary range: $90k-$130k/year approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
Expected travel is less than 5% in this role.
*Role has a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office 2 days remote.
