Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Software Engineer IIIis to design, implement, and test software for controlling imaging hardware for portable medical ultrasound machines in a team-oriented environment. Requires competency in all aspects of the product level software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. An ideal candidate is a self-starter, possesses a good understanding of interfacing with hardware, has experience programming in a multithreaded software environment, a thorough understanding of C++, database design, and the SOLID design principles. Candidates must be very team oriented and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions:

Generate software requirements, design documents, and test cases for ultrasound signal path.

Design, implement, and test software for ultrasound signal path.

Integrate and test software with hardware.

Participate in requirements, design, and code review.

Support investigation of defects and address defects where appropriate

Support other team members with ultrasound imaging feature development and testing.

Work with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software engineers, ultrasound engineers, DSP engineers, system engineers, V&V engineers, and product managers.

Knowledge and Experience:

Accredited Engineering Degree – BSCS/BSEE or related degree

5+ years programming experience with C++ and Python or Ruby

Experience with object-oriented design

Experience with C#, XML/JSON, SQL, and socket programming is a plus.

Demonstrated success with control systems software design and implementation

Demonstrated proficiency with requirements analysis and documentation

Experience working with an OS, Microsoft software development tools, and real-time systems

Experience with CM tools (i.e. GIT), JAMA or DOORS/DNG.

Experience with ISO, FDA, or other regulated product development environments strongly desired

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be available for working extended hours during critical phases of development programs

Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations

Salary and Benefits:

$110,000- $130,000 + variable bonus opportunity
