Description

The Supervisor is the TSO's direct subordinate, responsible for ensuring all personnel are performing their duties in accordance with established policies, procedures and the relevant Facility Security Plan. The Supervisor is more specifically responsible for:
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times, with all passengers, clients, terminal employees and ship's crew as per training.
  • Maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • As necessary, performing access control duties as per position post orders and the relevant Facility Security Plan.
  • As necessary, performs passenger, baggage and other physical screening as per the Facility Security Plan, in strict adherence to the certification received through training.
  • Ensuring all personnel are given required and requested breaks.
  • Ensuring all personnel are posted properly and rotated as necessary, in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as the Facility Security Plan.
  • Proper safe-keeping of all associated Sensitive Security Information (SSI) materials.
  • Write and maintain reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Inspect work areas to ensure compliance of established regulations in regards to safety and maintenance.
  • Observe and evaluate worker's performance to ensure upward mobility and proper utilization of employee skills.
  • Ensure all required reports are executed as necessary.
  • Maintain staff levels in accordance with client needs.


Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Must be able to communicate in and speak fluent English
  • Must be able to work in a client-focused role within a fast pace environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and high level of accuracy required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • State Security Officer License required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.
  • Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Screener certification (provided by company).


Physical Requirements:
  • Inspects documents for validity such as; Port ID, driver's licenses, company ID's and passports for access control.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to stand a minimum of eight (8) hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone/VHF two-way radio.
  • Must have sufficient computer and writing skills.


Salary Description

Starting Pay $21.50 per hour
