We are searching for a talented Equipment Operator
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day/Evening shift with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation; 7:00am - 7:00pm
Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Facilities or designee, perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems throughout the facilities. Perform inspections of mechanical areas, equipment and piping systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning equipment and systems. Make repairs, calibrate and functionally test equipment and systems. Recommend solutions for necessary corrective action. Read, record and interpret data/readings. Operate the Hospital Energy Management Systems and equipment. Perform water/chemical testing of cooling towers and HVAC systems and add necessary chemical treatment to systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with two years trade school education required.
- Massachusetts Second Class Fireman's license required.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Experience in Word, Excel and an electronic word order system is required.
- Experience and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning building equipment and systems is required.
- Experience and the ability to maintain routine equipment and parts is required.
- Experience in the mechanical field with knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC and equipment assembly is required.
- Three (3) years experience in Steam Power Plant Operations and general hospital/healthcare maintenance is required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Pay Range:
USD $22.92 - USD $38.54 /Hr.
