NTT DATA's Client is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX Key Responsibilities: Write production-ready code for bioinformatics algorithms, pipelines, visualizations, and data reporting. Processing public omics datasets through customized pipelines and implementing ML algorithms to structured data. Work with internal and external scientists to productize their work, build reusable packages Innovate and implement new tools and pipelines, and improve existing pipelines and algorithms for different types of biological data analysis and visualization. Identify valuable data sources and automate data ingestion. Effectively communicate processing and analyses.
Qualifications: Masters (1-2 years of relevant experience) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related technical discipline. Relevant experience in pipeline development, omics data analysis, machine learning, or related fields is preferred. Proficient in a programming language used for data processing, analysis, and visualization such as Python and R. Ability to learn and work collaboratively on GitHub. Hands-on experience with Nextflow. Experience in implementing bioinformatics pipelines and data structures/objects Hands-on experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured big data. Strong Computer Science fundamentals Think independently and also contribute to an active intellectual environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
