The Grant Writer will drive efforts to secure vital funding that empowers CAIR-LA to create meaningful impact in BAMEMSA communities around the Greater Los Angeles area. This position will be responsible for crafting compelling grant proposals, building and nurturing relationships with funders, and ensuring that our programs and departments have the financial support needed to thrive and expand. We are looking for someone experienced in grant writing who embodies a sense of initiative, ownership, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented mindset.RESPONSIBILITIES:Research grant opportunities from foundations, government, and corporate sourcesDraft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization's opportunitiesAttend appropriate trainings for grant applications, reporting, and tracking as offered by fund providersWork with other departments to gather information necessary to complete grant applications and reporting requirementsSubmit proposals and reports to grant manager for approvalRespond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposalsMaintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholdersMaintain system for document tracking, follow up on grant deliverables, and submit reports as required on a timely basisAssist with other Development projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in English, communications, creative writing, or related areaMinimum of two years' experience in grant writingAbility to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organizationStrong communication skills (oral & written); ability to write persuasive proposalsStrong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlinesMust have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner with minimal supervisionA record of measurable results in securing grant fundingComfortable working productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a rapidly growing organizationTO APPLY: Submit cover letter, updated resume and three referencesCAIR-CA is an equal-opportunity employer and adheres to all federal, state, and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination.
