Job Description

Southern Rockies Animal Emergency & Specialty is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our [9-month] training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position with our practice.

Southern Rockies provides 24/7 emergency care with specialty services on site. Our list of equipment includes the latest Idexx in-house laboratory, two digital radiology rooms, endoscopes, ER ultrasound, CT, MRI, three surgical suites, 8 ER exam rooms.

Besides enjoying over 300 days of sunshine per year, Colorado Springs is home to the Olympic Headquarters, sits at the base of the Pikes Peak region where any outdoor adventure you desire awaits. The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Program Duration/Commitment

* 6-9-month training program beginning June/July 2025 * 1-year commitment as an ER mentee/clinician at our practice from your start date, not upon mentorship completion

Program Highlights

* Tailored mentorship intended to maximize success for all preferred learning styles * Rotate with other specialty services during the training program * Surgical training offered by both emergency DVM's and our Boarded Surgeon * Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts * Routine scheduled 1:1's with your mentor (frequency varying on progression/individual need) * No on-call * Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds * Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors

Program Compensation

Minimum starting base pay of $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.
