Job Summary and Qualifications

The registered professional nurse is responsible for the delivery of post-partum and newborn nursery patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the registered professional nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and the activities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

What You Will Do In This Role:Your primary function is to provide direct patient care to post-partum patients in a family centered approachYou will provide multidisciplinary obstetrical care to low and high risk postpartum patients and normal newbornsThe RN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for dischargeYou will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative mannerCollect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situationAdvocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary teamIdentify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situationEnsure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipmentEducate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay

What qualifications you will need:

Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions) Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

One year of RN experience in port partum or nursery preferred One year of RN experience required

HCA Florida Mercy hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare Division.
