Job Summary:

This role is responsible for initial and ongoing orientation, education, development and competency of all staff in the Froedtert Health Respiratory Care departments. This role will be a combination of educator and quality coordinator functions. The Education Coordinator responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: identifies opportunities for staff development and patient teaching, systematic assessment of educational needs, creates and facilitates skills fairs based on assessment of staff educational needs, orientates new staff, gatekeeper of all education provided to outside departments, coordination of student/clinical experience affiliates. This person acts as a clinical expert and consultant to providers and functions as a resource person with an expert level of assessment, therapeutic and diagnostic skills in virtually all patient populations, areas or age groups. The Quality Coordinator responsibilities will include but are not limited to: identifies opportunities to improve patient care, utilizing evidence based medicine, leads process improvement initiatives, ability to lead multidisciplinary groups and collect and analyze data. Acts as a representative of Respiratory Care Services- Froedtert Health to other areas of the organization and works closely with staff, leaders and physicians. Flexible to work varying shifts to meet the needs of staff and department. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Respiratory Care with a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience is required. Recent progressive experience in Respiratory Care education is preferred. A minimum of 3 or more years of progressive experience in staff development and process improvement. Experience in presenting research is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Business Administration, Health Administration or a related field is required. Master's degree in Respiratory Care, Health Administration, Business Administration or related field within 4 years of hire/transfer or start of master degree program is required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Current Respiratory licensure by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required upon hire. American Academy of Pediatric (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred. American Heart Association (AHA). Instructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Instructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred. Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care is preferred. Asthma Education Coordinator (AE-C) credential from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board is preferred. COPD Certification is preferred. Special Skills Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor is preferred. American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Experience with multiple project leadership, business partnering and cross department and system collaboration. Excellent written communication skills and a proven ability to work in teams and to interact successfully with other departments. History of working effectively in a team oriented, collaborative environment. Experience with Supply Chain, equipment ordering and tracking, preferred. Experience with Froedtert Health Information Systems, including but not limited to APS, Lawson, Medworxx, Epic reporting, EPIC, Smartworks, BI, Kronos and Excel is preferred.
