The Senior Technologist, Technical Service will directly support our Distributor accounts and the implementation of a Distributor strategy. The Senior Technologist will develop solutions across all food application areas (Bakery, Dairy, Savory, etc). Activities will include leading customers projects, preparing customer meetings & trainings, ongoing customer support/troubleshooting, bench top analysis, as well as food pilot plant activities. The Senior Technologist will have responsibility for establishing and maintaining working relationships with technical individuals at customer accounts. This role will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Applications teams to promote functional, value-added ingredients and solutions to meet customer needs. Core Responsibilities: Supporting assigned accounts and leading customer projects with these accounts Supporting implementation of Ingredion’s distributor strategy Understanding the strategy of customers and how it translates into their technical needs. Identifying how customers can improve and expand their product offerings using Ingredion’s technical solutions. Applying this knowledge to build value for customers Providing technical support to customers for a broad range of food applications. Applying product and application knowledge to identify customer solutions. Executing well-defined experiments and procedures to prepare food prototypes Utilizing a range of analytical tools to support customers Conducting pilot and production scale trials in our Food Pilot Plant and at customers’ facilities Building open and collaborative relationships with customers and Ingredion’s Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Applications teams Utilizing project management skills to deliver projects on time and prioritize work according to shifting customer needs Qualified candidates willhave: M.S./B.S in Food Science/ Food Engineering/ Chemical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience Prior customer experience and working with technical information (i.e. food formulations, food processing specifications, pilot plant procedures, etc.) Customer focused mindset, proven people skills, self-motivation and focus on results Excellent communication skills; ability to present to large or senior audiences Problem-solving skills and experience dealing with ambiguity Demonstrated experience with hands-on food concept development formulation using culinary, laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment Knowledge of common food applications/ processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions Ability to travel 30% domestically. Relocation Available: Yes, Within Country Pay Range: $78,700.00-$104,966.67 Annual This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any). Incentive Compensation: As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
