Locations: United States - California - Foster City Time Type: Full time Posted on: Yesterday Job Requisition ID: R0043470 POSITION OVERVIEW: You will serve as a key strategic thought partner and leader to drive Gilead’s operational strategies, focusing on enhancing processes and driving team efficiency within the Gilead Operating Model (G.Ecosystem). This position reports to the Head of Product, Portfolio, and Strategy Office (PPSO). It supports the Product, Portfolio, and Strategy (PPS) organization and the leadership of the G. Ecosystem. EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and Improve Operational Processes:
Work with key stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and lead the development of solutions that enhance processes or systems, driving operational excellence within the PPS organization or the Gilead Ecosystem. Data-Driven Solutions and Roadblock Removal:
Analyze operational data to detect systemic trends and execute data-driven solutions aimed at removing obstacles and boosting team efficiency. Strategic Initiative Oversight:
Oversee and lead complex cross-functional initiatives with significant business impact. Ensure alignment with organizational goals while adhering to timelines, objectives, and defined success metrics. Training Development and Delivery:
Develop and conduct training sessions related to Gilead’s operating system to elevate team competencies and standardize practices. Change Management:
Leverage subject matter expertise to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions and collaborate with other functions on implementation. Ecosystem Management and Updates:
Lead development and updates of specific sections of the Ecosystem (e.g., handbooks, training materials) and ensure consistent implementation across Gilead’s organization. Facilitation of Workshops and Team Activities:
Lead, develop, and facilitate workshops and team activities that drive engagement and align with strategic objectives. Culture of Innovation and Leadership:
Champion a culture that fosters innovation and courageous leadership, encouraging new ideas, supporting cross-departmental collaboration, and mentoring other members of the PPSO. Advisory on Complex Challenges:
Provide strategic guidance on addressing complex organizational challenges and introducing new approaches within the team or PPS organization. Innovative Thinking:
Conceives new and novel approaches and ideas that significantly advance business and team outcomes. Knowledge, Experience, and Skills: Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years or Master’s degree/PhD with 12+ years of experience in leadership roles in the pharma industry. Previous consulting experience is a plus. PMP, change management, or Six Sigma/Lean certifications are a plus. Previous experience in multiple biopharma functions, e.g., Development, Research, and Commercial organizations. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence across matrixed, global organizations, responding quickly to change and adapting/operating in ambiguous environments. Proven track record in a leadership role with deep expertise in team effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead people with and without authority. Multiple years of experience leading high-complexity, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives. Advanced meeting facilitation, organizational, and communication skills with executive presence. Strong analytical and strategic thinking. Proven ability to challenge current business standards and processes, with a track record of proposing effective solutions to problems. Experience leading complex process improvement programs and operating model enhancements. The salary range for this position is: $237,660.00 - $307,560.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
