We are pleased to announce the opening for a Director of Contracts who will join the Business Operations Team in Huntsville, Alabama and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. Responsibilities: Provide guidance and leadership through mentoring staff members within the contracts department. Responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and acceptance of company contracts and subcontracts (IDIQ, FFP, Cost-Plus, T&M, Commercial) and contract vehicles. Review and approve all contractual documents with respect to the best interests of the company, satisfaction of customer specifications, and adherence to company policies and Government regulations. Design and develop internal terms and conditions, policies, and procedures to ensure both corporate efficiency and compliance with FAR, DFARS, DCMA, and additional regulatory agencies, and lead those government audits and assessments. Oversee and manage the company Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI), Intellectual Property (IP), Contract Administration, Purchasing, and Government Property policies. Advise executive management and program managers of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of and recommended changes to terms and conditions. Maintain current awareness of development and changes in government contract and related law. Basic Qualifications: An advanced degree in Business Administration, Contracts and Acquisition Management, or similar with 6 years of experience, OR, a degree with 10 years of experience, OR 14 years of experience in government contracting. CFCM (preferred), CPCM, or CCMA certifications. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a contracts team. Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job. Preferred Qualifications: Deep demonstrable knowledge of corporate, commercial, and government contract law, and experience with managing multiple Prime contracts and Subcontracts. Proven experience developing and/or implementing plans toward the achievement of a government-approved purchasing system (CPSR). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and willingness to learn and use integrated systems for workflow and tasking (e.g., ServiceNow), Customer Relationship Management (e.g., Unanet CRM). Ability to plan, multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines individually, and across your team, and effectively communicate those plans to leadership.
